Interflow’s southern team have completed a wastewater rehabilitation project beneath Regency Road.

The job was made challenging due to the presence of waste material that blocked the lower four to five centimetres of pipe. 244 tonnes of material – which included dirt, silt and asphalt, among other things – was removed from the before Interflows team were able to commence relining.

The pipe was successfully relined using Interflow’s spiral-wound Rotaloc solution. Rotaloc installation is designed to be easy, with a minimal footprint and a quick set up. It is a PVC liner, that can restore the structural integrity of people with diameters from 800 to 1500 mm. As it fits tightly against the pipe wall, projects like the rehabilitation beneath Regency Road can be completed with minimal loss of space within the pipes.

Interflow have earned a reputation for taking on and completing complicated jobs with innovative solutions. From upsizing full-lengths sewer mains in Melbourne, to relining a challenging length of pipe at Mt Cole.

All told, the project was completed in 18 months and saw the rehabilitation of a 1034 m trunk main four metres below a busy road which sees an average of over 38,000 vehicles passing per day.
