Announced at EVO 2022, DBFZ will only be getting rollback netcode for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC while previous gen versions will continue to use delay-based netcode.

No release date has been given for the update to DBFZ, though that hasn’t stopped the internet from celebrating what was previously thought of as an impossible dream.

For context, fans had been requesting rollback for DBFZ for years- the nature of its current Delay-based state made online matches near-unplayable, as mechanics like the game’s Super Dashes became almost unreactable.

However, despite huge fan request, the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment had never responded, instead only breaking the news that it had been in testing today.

Fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the momentous occasion for the game, with conventional wisdom sayin you can expect a healthier playerbase now that the online works.

“Rollback alone just birthed a new age of DBFZz and playerbase they have NO idea “, says pro player SonicFox.

Meanwhile, the community celebrated the victory with memes, declaring the “Rollback for DBFZ” pitch no longer a pipe dream.
