NL: Upgraded aerial work platform can get to work again

An aerial work platform is an essential tool for installers and greenhouse builders, as it is important to be able to work safely and comfortably at a height. This type of platform is often hydraulically extendable at both ends and equipped with automatic leveling. It can be placed both lengthwise and transversely to the tracked undercarriage.

Nick Weterings of the Dutch company Weterings Mechanisatie recently asked to overhaul one of their boom lifts. After 15 years and 17,000 operating hours of loyal service, Robbemond Scherming did not want to part with their Top-Spin 800R just yet.

Nick: "Some of its parts had seen better days, so we completely dismantled the platform to overhaul it. We checked every part and replaced the worn ones. We also wanted to widen the existing 8-meter wide platform to nine meters, so literally broadening the Top-Spin's use. Extensive structural calculations proved this was possible. So we fitted the machine with a completely new 9-meter platform with hot-dip galvanized railing."

In addition to being technically overhauled, this Top Spin's appearance also got an update too. The aerial work platform got a fresh coat of paint and was stickered in the company's colors.
