ASHEBORO - Luna Metal Buildings & Concrete, in Asheboro, has been so busy that the owners needed more space. They are in the process of relocating from 2504 Suite A, on North Fayetteville Street to a large bright, blue-painted-building located at 468 N. Fayetteville St.

The blue is very bright and visible.

Co-owner Frank Paredes said that the COVID-19 pandemic had slowed them down in moving, but had not affected their ability to manufacture and deliver metal buildings, metal carports and prepare the ground for those buildings.

Luan Metal Buildings & Concrete owners are Juan Luna and his son, Paredes. They worked for other companies for around 15 years. Five years ago, they partnered to form their own company. Business has been good.

Their staff of eight employees and two subcontractors has been working with customers in North and South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia.

“We are a one-stop shopping company,” Paredes said. “We manufacture the buildings and carports and do the necessary grading and concrete work. We do the welding and bending right here in our shop. Our customers include farms, churches, schools, residences, businesses and more. People can either come to our shop to work up a design and choose a color or they can do it online at https://lunametalbuildings.com.”

Paredes explained that the two most popular colors are the county red and light stone, which is a cream color.

He explained that they made two different types of metal. One is a 29-gauge sheeting. The other is a 24=gauge galvanized square tubing. It is rust free and shiny.

He said that the price of a 24-foot-by-25-foot building will start at $6,000. A larger 50-foot-by-40-foot building also starts at $6,000, but can go much higher because of the size of the building. Other prices can be seen on their website.

Paredes and Luna make time to work with local organizations. For example, they advertise at the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA, coach soccer and donate items at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

“I grew up here and have lived here all of my life,” Paredes said. “I graduated from the local high school and love Asheboro.”

He said that his company has created new jobs and has “given much back to the local community.” He is proud to say he is from Asheboro.
